Arlissa

Arlissa is an English Pop/R&B artist. She is half American and half German, but was raised in Crystal Palace, London. After completing her A-Levels she signed her first music deal to London Records.

She rose to prominence following her collaboration with Nas on the song “Hard to Love Somebody”, making her just the second UK artist ever to collaborate with him. This collaboration also drew the attention of Jay-Z who then signed her to his Roc Nation label. She was also included on the long-list of BBC’s Sound of 2013 poll.

After the release of 2 singles, Arlissa’s planned debut album Battles was scrapped and she left London Records & Roc Nation. She released a string of acoustic tracks as an independent artist starting in 2016, the most notable of which being “Hearts Ain’t Gonna Lie”. The song gained attention online, yielding over a million views on Facebook in the space of a week. The song was heard by DJ and producer Jonas Blue, who then remixed the song for a single release via Def Jam & Virgin.

Arlissa later signed a full record deal with Def Jam & Virgin and plans to release her long-awaited debut album The Broken Hearted in 2020.
